Temple Beth Sholom (TBS) is a welcoming and inclusive sacred community that connects its members to one another, Judaism, and Israel through interactive spiritual, educational, and social experiences. TBS is a Conservative synagogue consisting of more than 800 families. In addition to its clergy and staff, TBS has many groups and committees that immerse congregants of all ages in Jewish life and learning.

We are seeking a full-time Communications Manager to create and implement marketing, branding and communication materials including publications, website management, social media management, marketing, and advertising. The ideal candidate will be a creative designer who is proficient at implementing their ideas to help raise awareness and visibility of our synagogue. The Communications Manager will report to the Director of Engagement and will have the following responsibilities and duties:

• Develop and create print and digital communications and marketing materials for TBS.
• Responsible for the design and upkeep of the synagogue website.
• Responsible for preparing the Community Life Book on a timely basis adhering to deadlines.
• Create content and post regularly on all social media.
• Regularly update and distribute (weekly/monthly) printed newsletters, e-news, e-mails, website content, and social media content, etc.
• Create and manage digital and email marketing content.
• Execute a comprehensive social media strategy, building our following and presence. Current platforms include Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or relevant field.
• Two to Five years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Print and Digital Suite.
• Understanding of non-profit, educational, or religious organizations.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, organizational skills, creativity, imagination, and the ability to make TBS shine in words and design.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Constant Contact, Social Media sites with an interest in learning to use other programs as needed. Familiarity with ShulCloud desirable.
• Ability to function well in a team and to work well with staff, board members and community members.
• Comfort working in a synagogue community comprised of many members.
• Knowledge and understanding of Judaism and Jewish culture, customs, holidays, and familiarity with the needs of a Conservative Jewish congregation preferred.

HOURS: FULL TIME
• Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
• Friday 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
